Are You Eating Enough?

Updated: Aug 30, 2023

So my post today was going to be a workout but I am seeing a trend with many of you - not eating enough. Yep read that again - many of you are not eating enough. Calories that are below 1200 calorie does not promote fat loss - it actually promotes fat retention!

When we eat under 1200 calories, we may lose weight initially but long term the body's metabolism slows and it goes into a starvation mode. It holds on to everything you put in your mouth because it knows it is not getting fed enough.

If it burns anything for energy it is going to eat up the muscles but stores everything as fat. Then add exercise in the mix and it is full on stressed.

Another point is that just because our calories are higher - if those calories are not nutritious or especially alcohol this is even double trouble.

So consider logging into a free app or program such as myfitnesspal.com to check how many calories you are consuming. As I have told each of you - I am not about low calories as I have seen how that does not work and puts alot of stress on the body.

Calories should be at least 1200 and more is even better. Protein should be above 120mg for women and 160mg for men. Fat should not be more than 30-35% of the calories unless eating a high protein/low carb plan.

If you want me to take a look at your macronutrients after you log it - let me know. I can set up some specific parameters just for you. Knowing what you eat is very important and change happens there but many times we need to how much you are eating and adjust from there.
