I normally make my own taco or fajita seasoning with the below recipe but while at Fresh Thyme today, I found these great little packets that will be good for the boat.
These packets are pretty clean but not quite as clean as make your own. The Siete brand is cleaner in ingredients as the Simply organic has some cane sugar at the end of the ingredient list. Both are higher in sodium.
My favorite recipe for taco seasoning is by Real Food Dietitians:
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
¼ teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon sea salt
¼–½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
In a small jar with a lid, place all ingredients, cover jar, and shake to combine. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Makes enough for 3# of meat.
Feel free to double or triple this recipe as I do.
