Holiday Survival: The Day After

I hope you all have had a great Thanksgiving. I did. I didn't even have to cook. My daughter made almost everything and thankfully they eat clean - so no wheat, dairy or sugar!

Did you enjoy too much turkey, stuffing and pie? Had a few glasses of wine? Yep so now it is the day after and how to get back on track.

First, I recommend you divvy up the leftovers and either give away or throw out the unhealthy tempting dishes such as the stuffing, green bean casserole and pie. No matter how much will power you have, those things talk really loudly and eventually we all succumb to the temptation.

Next, consider making a healthy soup such as Healthy Creamy Turkey Mushroom Soup or my favorite Hamburger Soup.

Start your day with a protein and eat protein throughout the day helping to get your insulin response back on track.

Pay attention to your water intake. Right after a holiday, we tend to dip in that area.

Take a break and go for a walk. Just get out and get some fresh air - BREATHE deeply.

Holiday can sabotage us quickly but it is not so much what we do on the holiday but how quickly we get ourselves back on track.
