Grandma's Banana Bread

My grandma used to make the best banana bread. Of course it had 'oleo' AND Crisco in it along with sugar and flour. It was delightful but I needed to make a few changes to make this work.

Grandma's Banana Bread


1/2 C Butter

1/2 C Coconut oil - softened slightly but not runny

3/4 C Maple sugar or coconut sugar

3-4 Crushed bananas

1 tsp baking soda

2 C gluten free all purpose flour


  • Cream butter and coconut oil with sugar.

  • Add in eggs and bananas.

  • Then dry ingredients

  • Add in nuts if desired

Bake in 350 oven for 45-60 minutes. Makes 1 large loaf or 2 small.
