Feeding Kids

I have been staying a the grandkids house since Wednesday while Mom and Dad have been to a spiritual retreat in Montana. It has been a very busy time but also an awesome time to spend time with the 3 girls (10, 8 and 4) and dog (Great Dane).

We spent time on home schooling projects such as sewing and learning to bake reading a recipe - Making gluten free banana bread loaves, games and many walks too.

For me, thankfully this family eats healthy. Everyone is processed food free, white sugar free, mostly wheat free, and one of them is dairy free as well. This has made my stay here very easy. I love to find new products in the pantry to try.

They are still kids however, and they want kid friendly foods which means cereal with almond milk or eggs from their chickens for breakfast, chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, cheese burgers/hotdogs, spaghetti, and grilled cheese sandwiches. This is what they get mixed in with lots of fruits and veggies along with some parmesan cauliflower rice and white sweet potato fries.

Treats are also very important too. Here are some of the treat they enjoy too.

Today is my last day here and I am looking forward to going home to my own schedule and even some quiet time but thankfully I have been able to maintain my peloton workouts - even trying the peloton bike for the first time (I will chalk that up to an experience I don't need to do again. LOL), meditate, read and knit while the kids are busy with chores or playing with the neighborhood friends.
