20 Minute Full Body Pilates
I used to take Pilates classes when they were all the rage. I loved them! The core work in these classes were awesome. The increased muscle tone and strength is powerful in these classes and these classes are for everyone and no equipment is needed.
This week, the Peloton app (I do not have a Peloton bike or treadmill but love the app) added Pilate Strength classes and I took several and remembered how awesome I felt after these classes.
The health benefits of Pilates include:
improved flexibility, physical coordination and balance
increased muscle strength and tone, particularly of your abdominal muscles, lower back, hips and buttocks (the ‘core muscles’ of your body)
enhanced muscular control of your back and limbs
improved posture, stabilization of your spine and increased body awareness
relaxation of your shoulders, neck and upper back
prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and safe rehabilitation of joint and spinal injuries
increased lung capacity and circulation through deep breathing
improved concentration, stress management and relaxation
